This article raises the problem of psychological readiness for school. It shows the theoretical development of native psychologists and experimental data obtained in the course of research. The psychological readiness for school factor is considered within the framework of modern realities, in particular from the standpoint of the generations theory developed by Neil Hove and William Strauss. On the example of a particular school, the influence of the innovation environment on the cognitive abilities development of future first-graders is examined.
