In the article it is proved that to a large extent the social insecurity of disabled people with acquired motor impairments is associated with the presence of a psychological factor that shapes their attitude to themselves, to society and hinders adequate contact with it. In the rehabilitation of people with disabilities, the main task of a psychologist is to teach them how to live, making the most of the compensatory possibilities of the psyche and the characteristics of the individual. These people in our society require high emotional stability, will, optimism, to identify for themselves a positive direction of self-development, aimed at preserving themselves as a person, to continue active life. Accordingly, psychological rehabilitation should become an integral component of a complex of rehabilitation measures.
